Guangzhou Evergrande coach Fabio Cannavaro’s hopes’ to one day be given a European management job and maintains that Lionel Messi can not be compared with Diego Maradona.
The Ballon d’Or and World Cup winner discussed his experiences in China with Sky Sports News UK and asked if he was targeting an English job.
“I hope so. I watch every game in the Premier League and I like England’s football environment and culture, “Cannavaro said.
” I am in China trying to develop my football system and idea. I’m at one of the best clubs in Asia and, of course, I’d like to try one experience in Europe in the future. I want to try the challenge of European football. I like the attitude of Jurgen Klopp, but at the same time I like the philosophy of Pep Guardiola about football, both with and without the ball we still need intensity. But you have to manage the game and try to win. I have my system and I hope you’ll see one day.”
Cannavaro never saw Pele but watched Maradona for seven years as he saw every game.

Cannavaro added “He’s not one of the best, he’s the best.” Asked who was the greatest player of all time, the former Napoli player and a lifelong fan had no qualms.”
Cannavaro has lots of respect for Messi. He believes Messi is one of the best for the young generation, but Maradona is different because it has been different for football.
Cannavaro said “They kicked him a lot but he’s still been in charge and he’s been tough.”Messi is top, but Maradona is another country. I’ve never compared him to any other player.
