Burnley went up to eighth in the Premier League with a 1-0 win over the mediocre Crystal Palace side of Selhurst Park.
Ben Mee’s 62nd-minute goal proved to be the deciding moment after an uneventful first half, the back center heading into Ashley Westwood’s free-kick.
Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita would be especially disappointed to say he had a hand in Mee ‘s effort, but he struggled to drive it away from the goal and let it find the right down corner.
After falling back, the hosts threatened more with coming closer to Andros Townsend and Jordan Ayew, who was lucky to avoid being sent off in the middle earlier for violent behavior.
However, the Eagles failed to find an equalizer after their 4-0 loss at Liverpool last week and fell to a second consecutive defeat. Now Burnley is leveling on points with Tottenham and holding realistic hopes for next season to secure football in the Europa League.
