Barcelona went through a potentially difficult game away against Villarreal with a respectable 4-1 (3-1) and stayed four points behind the leading Real until the Spanish championship’s last four rounds.
Barcelona already took the lead in the 3rd minute with its own goal from Torres, who turned the ball into his net after Jordi Alba ‘s cross. Villarreal quickly got to an equalizing goal, scored in the 14th minute by Moreno. Yet guests had built a two-targeted advantage by the end of the first half.
Leo Messi was in the assistant position in both cases. After 20 minutes, a few quick and successful challenges followed by a shot by Luis Suarez from just outside the penalty area could have led to another goal for Antoine Griezmann.
Messi shook the net in the 69th minute but that goal was canceled after reviewing the video. Another ball however ended up in the net of the home team, and Anssu Fati scored the goal in the 86th minute.
