This comes after the news broke out that if Philippe Coutinho makes 100 appearances in a Barcelona shirt Barcelona will have to pay an extra £17 million to Liverpool.
The Brazilian, 27, played 76 matches for Barcelona before being loaned out at the start of the season. Barcelona paid out a whopping £142 million in 2018 to keep the Brazilian away from Liverpool. Philippe Coutinho, at Camp Nou, however, failed to live up to expectations and was sent packing to Germany.

Teams such as Tottenham, Chelsea, Everton, and Newcastle are reportedly lining up to sign Philippe Coutinho, but no team has matched Barcelona’s £70 million claim price. Bayern Munich has reportedly declined to make the transfer of Phillippe Coutinho permanent because he has not pleased the bosses in Germany.
Barcelona would have to pay £ 12 million in compensation for Philippe Coutinho if he goes back to Camp Nou. With Barcelona being no exception, European clubs have run up huge financial losses during the pandemic. Barcelona should look for a way to stop charging Liverpool and Coutinho for those enormous amounts.
