RB Leipzig and Berlin’s Hertha played 2-2 in the match of the 28th round of the German Football Championship, and the match was marked by an extraordinary error on the part of visiting goalkeeper Rune Jarstein. During the 68th minute, the Norwegian goalkeeper scored his own goal to give the home team a 2-1 lead.
Jarstein defended Patrik Schick who fired from the edge of the penalty area and then somehow bounced the ball with his right hand into the net.
In the 9th minute, the guests took the lead with a goal from Marko Grujić, and in the 24th minute, Lukas Klostermann equalized. Hertha took the lead in the 63rd minute but played after sending off Marcel Halstenberg.
Nevertheless, after Jarstein’s ‘gift’ RB Leipzig turned scoreless with the match. Hertha, however, managed to equalize from a penalty kick by Krzysztof Piatek in the 82nd minute. Ademola Lookman committed the foul by carelessly knocking down Matheus Cunhu. Dani Olmo had played until the 58th minute for the home team.
With RB Leipzig it was also the fourth draw in the last five matches, while Hertha and the third game was unbeaten since the championship resumption. Over the first two matches, she’s registered two victories.
Tonight, there are four more games scheduled.
Bayern is leading the table with 64 points, Borussia Dortmund is second with 57 points, while RB Leipzig has 55 points in sixth.
