According to a source, Manchester City could let Sergio Aguero leave late in the season.
Last month, City was handed a two-season ban on the Champions League for violations of Financial Fair Play (FFP), although it challenges the decision. That could however result in a big-name exit at the end of the campaign.
Sergio Aguero said he had ‘not ruled out’ leaving Manchester City at the end of next season when his contract expired.
Argentina International has cemented its status as a city hero during its nine years at Etihad Stadium and became the club’s all-time top scorer in November 2017.
The goals of Aguero helped people win 10 major titles including four championships in the Premier League, but they have been eluded by the Champions League so far.
By entering the final 12 months of his current deal, the 31-year-old has indicated that he will soon have a big decision to make.
“I don’t worry about what I’m going to do,” El Chiringuito told me. “I know my deal is closer to expiring every day. There will certainly be some offers but we’ll see.” I just want to try winning the Champions League with City right now. It will be a great accomplishment for me and the club.
“But I haven’t really thought about what I’m going to do after 2021. I don’t rule myself out moving back to Spain or going to any place. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I want to do everything in the best possible terms in the club, then we’ll see.
