Watford has signed Emmanuel Dennis from Club Brugge for an undisclosed fee. Watford has revealed that they are finalizing personal terms with the Nigerian striker. Dennis, 23 joined Brugge in 2017. He spent the end of the season in the Bundesliga with FC Koln.
“An agreement with Club Brugge has been reached for the transfer of exciting young forward Emmanuel Dennis, Watford FC is delighted to confirm.” a statement from Watford said after signing Emmanuel Dennis. “A scorer of 27 goals in just over 90 club appearances for Brugge, he has featured in both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.”
“The Hornets are currently finalizing personal terms with the pacey striker – capped twice by Nigeria so far – who began his professional career with some experience as a teenager in the Ukrainian Premier League with Zorya Luhansk.” the statement added.
Dennis will be the second attacker signed by Watford this season. Ashley Fletcher will join after his contract with Middlesborough expires. He endured an injury-riddled season scoring just three goals for the club. The duration of the contract has not been disclosed. Watford is also in advanced talks to sign Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspurs. The ex England international left Spurs after nearly one and a half decades with the North London club. However, it is understood Ashley Young is unlikely to make a return to Watford after discussions with the former Manchester United player’s representatives.
